About the Choir The voices united choir is a combined choir, which includes choir members from Kentucky Baptist Fellowship (KBF) churches, including Brenda Farmer and Phil Quinn from LABC and twelve choir members from the Protestant Church of Morocco (EEAM), including Helge and Christiano from our partner church in Rabat. Both groups (from Morocco and Kentucky) have been rehearsing separately and will come together to form one combined choir that will tour KBF churches. The Morocco members of the choir are, for the most part, African students from various Subsaharan African nations who are studying at universities in Morocco. They represent some of the brightest most talented young people from their countries and most will eventually return to be leaders there. See the insert inside this Key for pictures and biographies for each of these choir members. The protestant church of Morocco, including our partner church in Rabat, is a French speaking church made up primarily of African students, with some others from various backgrounds who work in Morocco. The church also ministers to African migrants/refugees who flee war, famine, and extreme poverty in Africa and wind up in Morocco. The situation for these migrants is desperate. An offering will be taken at each concert to support the ministry to these African migrants.
Lexington Avenue Baptist Church and the Evangelical Church of Morocco, Branch of Rabat will share a common service on November 8. Each church will use a similar order of worship, music, and scripture, and will share some elements of the service together through live video feed.
In preparation for the service we are asking our members to read two scripture passages and some Bible study devotional thoughts written first by Lexington Avenue Baptist, then by the Evangelical Church of Morocco, Branch of Rabat. "Everyone is Welcome at God's Banquet," is the theme for these scripture readings. For the first of these Bible studies follow the link below:
The second Bible study devotional is written by Carlos Nzoyoum, the Evangelical Church of Morocco, Branch of Rabat. Carlos visited Lexington Avenue Baptist last fall (2008):
