Ministry with Adults 55 and Up
Life Stages of Adults 55 and Up:
Builders/Boomers, Explorers, Pillars, Homebound & Elderly
Mark Seanor, minister to senior adults at First Baptist Church, Hunstville Alabama, uses the term Experienced Adults to name their ministry with adults, roughly 50 and up. Rather than using age divisions, Seanor speaks of life stages. Read more here: Builders[Boomers], Explorers, Pillars, Homebound & Elderly

Fun Lovin' Hearts
The Lexington Avenue Baptist Church's Senior Adult group, better known as the "Fun Lovin' Hearts" is one of the church's greatest assets. They are an outgoing, excited, and loving group.
The programs of this group vary from potluck lunches, to trips to various places and special events. The Fun Lovin' Hearts meet each month. Whether it is a short trip in town or a weekend in Gatlinburg, the spirit of this group is one of genuine care for one another.
A Network of Friends
We look out for each other. Call the church office to be a part of a network of friends that check on each other regularly.
Bus service is provided for senior adults for Sunday School and Worship. Call the church office (236-3565) if you need a ride to our Sunday morning services. Our friendly bus driver will be happy to pick you up.
Soup's On Us Ministry
"Soup's on Us" is a weekend food ministry sponsored by Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church, The Presbyterian Church of Danville, First Christian Church, and Lexington Avenue Baptist Church. Lexington Avenue Baptist is repsonsible for providing meals for 300 plus needy Danville residents one Saturday per month, including making boxes, preparing meals, packing boxes, and delivering meals. Soup's On Us provides an opportunity for fellowship and ministry to our community.
Operation Christmas Child
Fill a box and make a difference in a child's life. LABC is engaged in year round collection and a church-wide packing party. Every gift-filled shoe box is a tool for transforming the lives of children and their families around the world through the Good News of Jesus!
Acts 1:8 - Local & Global Ministries
Our church partners in ministry in: Danville/Boyle County; Nada, KY in the mountains of Eastern Kentucky; Rabat, Morocco; Haiti and more.
Maetta Gray Women on Mission
Meets on the first Monday of each month at 1:30 in fellowship hall for mission education, prayer, support, and action.
Lexington Avenue Baptist Church provides opportunities for interaction among all age groups. Our children, teens, and young families enjoy having adoptive grandparents, especially those whose families live far away. Wednesday night family meals and Sunday morning worship are great places for relationship building across the ages. As they say, "It takes a village to raise a child."
During the winter we walk in the gym area. In the summer we may walk at Millenium Park. Times vary, but usually we walk in the mornings. Call the church office (236-3565) for more information.
Deacon Christmas Care Dinner
Each December our deacons host our senior adult singles for a delicious meal with devotion and communion.
Visit our Health Resource Room on Sunday mornings before Sunday School for a blood pressure check and some health information from a registered nurse. Visit our Health Link Page for some healthy websites.
