Rev. Basil Hall was called to serve as senior pastor in a special called business meeting on August 12 following the morning service. His first day of service at LABC will be Monday, September 10.
Rev. Hall since 2006 has served as the lead pastor of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church near Nicholasville. From 1998 to 2006 he served as Associate Pastor of Music and Education at Crosswoods Baptist Church in Nicholasville. From 1996 to 1998 he was Minister of Music for Southern Heights Baptist Church in Lexington, and from 1991 to 1998 he held the position of Minister of Music at Crosswoods Baptist in Nicholasville.
Basil received his Master’s Degree in 1997 from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Kentucky.
Basil is a native of Detroit, Michigan and has lived in Central Kentucky for more than 20 years. His wife, Alisha, is an instructional coach at Red Oak Elementary in Jessamine County. She has been an educator for more than 20 years. Basil and Alisha have two children, Brenna (18) and Brock (16). Brenna recently graduated from West Jessamine High School where she played volleyball and was her senior class vice president. Brenna is a freshman at Georgetown College. Brock is a junior at West Jessamine High School in Nicholasville where he plays on the tennis team. He is an avid sports fan and cheers for both UK and Michigan.
Regarding his calling, Basil says, “I am committed to winning the lost to Christ, leading Christians to reach their fullest potential, and fostering church growth. I want to serve in a church whose vision is to meet the spiritual needs of the community and provide services that impact every area of life.”
Alisha says, “I have always been honored and humbled by my husband’s calling. I have tried hard to instill in our children that it is our privilege to serve the church, whether that be hosting dinners, planning events, or cleaning the bathrooms. We count it all as privilege.”
