LABC Wednesday Night Meals are approaching fast and even though our facilities are not available for use yet, they soon will be.  In the meantime, we certainly do not want to miss out on the fellowship and prayer time we enjoy with our church family, so hang onto your hats, be flexible, and help keep the ball rolling for the kids, young people, and all of us.

In September and October we will be trying to utilize the good weather and hopefully several of our Wednesdays will be held outside. Our annual Steak-Out will be held September 7th right in our very own driveway next to the playground. Tables and chairs will be set up on the blacktop and we can utilize the steps for seating, but you might want to bring some fold-up chairs just in case.  Tim Dievert will be manning the grill and everyone is asked to bring a dish to share.  Cross your fingers for good weather. We are excited to try some other “unusual” arenaswhich may include a Tailgating meal in the parking lot and Ice Cream Social on the front steps of the church.  Be flexible since weather could change events to another Wednesday.  Thank you in advance for your patience and support.

There are a couple of other facts we wanted to share with you.  Wednesday nights are not a money-making event for our church; these fellowship meals are a ministry within our church for our members and those who care to attend.  However, it is important for the cost of these meals to be funded as much as possible by donations in order not to put an additional burden on our church budget.  Money allotted in the budget is minimal – really, and probably barely covers the cost of paper goods and utensils used throughout the year.  In talking with those who help provide meals, the cost of food averages approximately $200 per meal – notice we said averages.  During the past year, money collected on Wednesday nights usually ran anywhere from $100 - $150 – not counting those nights that were fund raisers. Fund raisers ( Missions, Soups on Us, Passport Camps, etc. ) cover the cost of the food along with donations which make them no expense for the church. That leaves LABC funding the remaining cost each Wednesday and putting an unnecessary strain on our already tight budget.

Again we are strictly making this a voluntary contribution event, but we would like to suggest that adults pay $5, children $2 ( 5 and under no charge)and no family pay over $15.  Thank you for enabling this ministry to continue.

Exciting times are ahead as we move forward with our renovations – you’ll be so thrilled with our new kitchen and fellowship areas that we know many more teams will sign up to help with the meals – Hallelujah !  Looking forward to seeing everyone this Fall on Wednesdays!
