So Sayeth the LABC Youth
“Why didn’t the chicken cross the road? Because it was God’s will for him to follow it.”
-Blake Quinn said in regard to the theme for passport camp.

Memory verse for August Proverbs 2:6-8
For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding; he stores up sound wisdom for the upright;
he is a shield to those who walk blamelessly, guarding the paths of justice and preserving the way of his faithful ones.

Reds Faith Day and MercyMe concert—August 10th
We will meet at the church at 9:15 am on Sunday morning and will return around 9:30pm (depending upon the duration of the game). We will be eating lunch at a restau- rant on our way to the park and will be eating dinner at the park. After watching the Red’s paly the Marlins the youth will enjoy a performance by contemporary Christian group, MercyMe. Youth need to bring enough money for their ticket, the fast food meal on the way up, and dinner at the park.

30 Hour Famine
The 30 hour famine will begin at 5:00pm on August 1st and the famine will be over at 7:00pm on the 2nd. Youth will eat lunch on the 1st and stop eating for a full 30 hours. The youth will stay at the church playing games and learning about the food crisis in other parts of the world. We will end the fast with a trip to a local restaurant. The only expense is the meal at the restau- rant at the end of the famine.
