Children’s June News

God Is: Summer Study
God Is, our summer study, begins June 11. We’ll meet each week from 10-11:30 on Wednesday mornings. This center-based curriculum invites kids to explore different metaphors that teach us about what God is like. If at all possible, make sure your child attends our first meeting so that he or she can get an introduction to the centers and a feel for what we’ll be doing throughout the summer. Here’s the schedule, slightly revised from the email you may have received last week:
June 11: Introductory Meeting/God is light.
June 18: No Meeting (VBS)
June 24: (This is not a typo — Because of CBF General Assembly, we’ll meet on TUESDAY this week). God is wisdom.
July 2: God is Word.
July 9: God is bread.
July 16: God is a rock.
July 23: God is joy.
July 30: God is water.
August 6: God is peace.

Summer Sunday School
Summer Sunday School officially kicks off June 15. Join us for a fun and VERY interactive Sunday morning experience at 9:30 each week for preschoolers through sixth graders. We’ll be painting, playing, using puppets, and even building with Legos. You won’t want to miss out on this!

Vacation Bible School
VBS is Sunday, June 15 - Thursday, June 19. We’ll meet from 6:00-8:30 each evening for a wilderness adventure with Moses.
Register Online: You can register your child(ren) online at All children preregistered online will be entered in a drawing to win the pluch camel. If you could register your kids and encourage anyone else you’re planning to bring to do the same, that would help us a ton in planning and estimating numbers.
Empty Toilet Paper Rolls needed for a VBS craft. Drop them off at the church office if you have any. Nada Mission Trip
Our trip to Nada is coming up this weekend: May 30-June 1. Join us for all sorts of festivities, including helping to build a playground and taking a trip to the splash park in Stanton! This trip is open to 3rd graders and up, so see Amanda if you need details.

Volunteers are still needed for:
- VBS (We need tribe leaders, crafts gurus, and a couple of actors to lead our dramas!)
- Summer Sunday School (You can volunteer to lead the story one or two weeks over the summer. If you’re willing, email or call Amanda with some dates that would work for you. She’ll be there each week to help as well. This will require fairly minimal preparation on your part.)
- Wednesday “God Is” meetings (We need one adult to help with centers each week. Amanda will be there to lead the story time. No preparation required — just show up ready to have fun!)
Please call or email Amanda if you’re interested in helping with any of the above.
