"Get Connected" at the Welcome Cafe'

New at the Welcome Café
New! Drop by the Welcome Café and check out Kids Corner, a place where children can engage in faith related activities with Summer Quinn or check out the little community library where you can bring a book to share or take one to read. Details on both at the café each Sunday beginning at 9:10 a.m. Special thanks to the Coed 1 Class for hosting the month of February and making the experience magical. Also, a special thanks to our deacons Rosalind Campbell, Marvin Smith, David Williams, Paul Elwyn, Bill Singer, Doris Cessna, and Ted Monroe for hosting along with Coed I.

Hospitality Resource
Our new Hospitality Resource booklet is available. This colorful resource is filled with pictures, stories and insights from our greeters, instructions for greeters, and maps of our Sunday School classes. An electronic version is being mailed to our members and will be posted online (Hospitality Resource). A limited number of printed copies are available in the church office.

Welcome Café 2014
I invite you to be a part of something big in 2014…LABC’s Welcome Café (WC). This ministry is focused on connecting guests and LABC family in a fun and welcoming environment while supporting the overall mission of the church.  Volunteers are needed to host each Sunday.

What does it mean to host the WC?
--Arrive at the café by 9 a.m. on your Sunday for a quick setup
--Be ready by 9:10 a.m. to greet those who drop by for conversation and coffee
--Bring a snack to share (optional)
--Close the café by 9:40 a.m.
--Welcome any visitors who need assistance finding their way

Note: The café is set up each week and hosts are only responsible for being cheery and ensuring refreshments are set up. Instructions for hosting are at the WC station.

Suggested hosts include:
1. You and your BFF or buddy
2. You and some (or all) of your family members
3. Couples
4. Classes or groups willing to take an entire month or a certain Sunday each month
5. Deacons of the week support the café each week. Spouses are welcome and needed, here, as well.
6. Theme a Sunday and pull in friends with whom you enjoy a certain activity, hobby or sport

Volunteer
Please join this ministry by volunteering to host a Sunday one, two or three times a year. The schedule is listed below. Please respond to this email if you can assist, or contact me (contact information available in the church office) or the church office (236-3565).
--Thanks so much, Rhonda Caldwell
