In Appreciation of Tara Luster

It has been my privalege to work with Tara Luster in her capacity as children’s minister at Lexington Avenue Baptist Church.

When we began our search for a children’s minster the committee was not sure we would find anyone, but I believe God led Tara to us. The committee was impressed with Tara’s loving spirit, her spiritual depth, her experience with children, and her creativity.

Tara was working on a Bachelor’s Degree in Art Education when she came on staff, a degree she has since completed. The children have benefited greatly from the many artistic activities she has provided for the children. It has been a joy to watch the children express themselves through art. Completing a college degree, raising a family and serving as children’s minister was a challenge but she managed well. She has now begun work on her Master’s Degree.

There is no question that Tara loves children and that this children’s ministry position was not just a job. We will remember the many activities she led for our children, Passport Kids Camp, Vacation Bible School, Art Shows, Birthday Party for Jesus, Summer Book Club, Nada Mission trips, and Fall Festival, just to name a few.

We have also enjoyed watching her two beautiful daughters grow and recently we have been blessed by the addition of Billy, Landon, and Cloie to the family.

The good news is she will continue to be a part of our church family.

We are planning a date to recognize Tara that best fits her schedule. Please take some time this month to her tell how much you appreciate her ministry with our children and join us as we recognize her (time and date to be announced).

Thank you Tara for all you have done for our children and for our church. I am proud to have served alongside of you.

With Gratitude,

Keith Stillwell
