Pastor's Pen, July 2012

July, much like June, is a busy month for ministries and activities at LABC.  Our youth will be at Passport Youth Camp in Macon, Georgia, on the campus of Mercer University July 1-6.  Pray for them as they travel and as they experience a great week together. Fourteen youth and 4 chaperones will be going this year!!
Our children will be going to Passport Kids Camp at Murray, Kentucky, on the campus of Murray State University July 15-18. Pray for them as they travel and have a great week together. Eleven children and 3 chaperones will be going!!

We are going to try something different for our Wednesday Prayer meetings in July. We won’t meet on July 4, but the remaining Wednesdays in July we will meet in the Fellowship Hall at noon. We will not be meeting in the evenings on Wednesdays in July. A light lunch will be provided. We will have a brief Bible study, share prayers for the concerns and the joys of our church family, community, nation, and world, and we will have some great fellowship. A small donation to help offset the cost of the lunch is appreciated but not necessary. Our study is titled “Embracing the Word of God” and will focus on what it means to be a Christian in 21st century world. It will come from the first letter of John.

For those of you who work in town or work close enough to drive here let me encourage you to come. We will finish in time for you to get back to work so it would be a great midweek renewal. Invite your colleagues to come as well.

Reservations won’t be necessary but if you could call or email Gail (gail@lexingtonavenue.org) it would help us have a sense of how many to prepare for.

July is an exciting month. I look forward to sharing it with you.

In Christ,
Tommy
