Dear Lexington Avenue Baptist Church leaders,
This card is coming to you very late because I never seem to find time to sit down and write. It’s a snow day today in Japan, though, so I now have time. Many of you may not know this, but I was accepted into the Japan Exchange and Teaching program. I have been here since July 31 and have been teaching in a local Junior High School since late August. I am really enjoying it! I am happy to say that I have been lucky enough to find two church homes here. One is an English speaking service that takes place on the first and third Sundays of each month and the other is a Spanish service that takes place every Sunday evening. God has blessed me with these two churches. Not only that, but there is a group that functions through JET called JET Christian Fellowship, of which I became a leader after attending a Fall retreat in my first few months here. Additionally, God has provided a group of JETs who invited me to join their Bible Study that takes place about twice a month. We’ve studied the Gospels, Revelation, and we just recently started Genesis.
I am worried that I am running out of space. I really just wanted to wish you all a very belated Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Thank you for being my church home in my college years.
To My Dear LABC family,
Thank you so much for the many cards, emails, calls and expressions of condolences. My father, Kenneth McDonald was a great Christian man that was so loved by his family. Your support during this time has meant so much. A special thank you to Tommy and Keith for attending my dad’s funeral. I was very touched to look up and see them both there.
I once read that “there will come a time when you think everything is finished, yet that will be the beginning.” Such is the case in death. My dad has left his earthly home but as a believer, I have peace in knowing he has started life anew in his heavenly home.
Thank you again
Dear Joy Sunday School Class,
Thank you for your continued support of the Salvation Army After School Program! The children are very grateful for your giving and wanted to make cards for you. Your support has given the children snacks, pencils, paper, art supplies and more. Thank you for investing into our program and the lives of these precious children.
