The Season of Lent & Easter
Join us for worship during the season of Lent. The theme will be, Hymns of the Cross. Leading up to Easter Sunday, worship will include special music, sermons on the hymns of the cross, children’s sermons related to the Lenten banners, children open the Bible and light the candles.

Journey to the Cross: Online Lenten Devotinal Guide
Available daily on our web home page: www.lexingtonavenue.org. The site provides scripture, a meditative thought, prayer, and music from a saxaphone artist for each day of the Lenten season, March 9 (Ash Wednesday)-April 24 (Easter).

Children Light the Candle and Open the Bible
Children who would like to light a candle or open the Bible at the beginning of worship during Lent, see Tara.
Upward Sports seeks to provide children with "skills for the sports arena and values for life." While training children with the athletic skills needed to participate at the next level, Upward Sports stresses biblical values—such as leadership, teamwork, integrity and respect—as much as winning. Upward is provided for K-6th grade children. LABC’S children’s ministry is considering having an Upward Soccer team. However, to be able to provide this for our children we will need many volunteers, beginning with a coach. If you are interested please contact Tara or Keith and we can get the ball rolling!!!
PASSPORT Kids Camp
Can you believe it is already time to be thinking about summer camp? Well it is, and registration begins now! For children grades 3-6 (completed); Theme: Treasure; Registration: $60 Deposit required for each participant at the time of registration, due by April 1, final payment is due May 27th; Location: Murray State University; Date: July 5-8 (Tues-Fri) Cost: $230 (scholarships available)

Seeking Part-time Youth Minister
Lexington Avenue Baptist Church, Danville, KY is seeking part-time Youth Minister to work approximately 20 hours per week. LABC Preschool Pre-registration
Church members and families may pre-register for LABC Preschool
Beginning March 25. Pre-registration forms are available in the church office
or online at lexingtonavenue.org/preschool. Complete forms with your $50
pre-registration fee may be turned into the church office and confirmation
will be sent. Public registration will be April 19, 1:00-2:00 p.m.
Easter Choir Folders
Please consider singing with our Easter Choir this year! We’ll be singing, “Because He Lives”, “I Will Rise”, and the “Hallelujah Chorus”. If you’ve not been in this Choir before, give it a try! Pick up a folder on the piano in the Choir Room that contains the music and a listening CD to practice at home.

There is a new bulletin board on the bridge between the education building and the sanctuary. Please feel free to place a pin wherever friends and family may be. Military, ministers around the world, and LABC members all need our steady prayers. Our map will fill up quickly as we express blessings and travelers mercies for our family, friends and many acquaintences--Thanks
Cancer Screening Kits
On March 13th - 20th, free self testing colorectal cancer kits will be available on Sunday 9 – 9:30 AM in the Fellowship Hall entrance or in the church office. They are for people over 50 years old, or who have a family history of colon cancer. It is important to do self tests during the years between colonoscopies. The self addressed kits must be mailed in by March 30th.
LABC & Rabat, Morocco Prayer Requests
As a part of our partnership with the EEAM church in Rabat, Morocco, the LABC Global Ministries team will send to the Morocco church, our prayer requests that they will share on Friday evening at their weekly prayer meeting, and they will send their prayer requests to us each week before our weekly prayer meeting on Wednesday evening. On last Friday night, they prayed for our upcoming DiscipleNow Weekend for our youth; our Unity in the Community services; a luncheon held last Friday in Elizabethtown with Karen Thomas Smith and representatives from the churches in Kentucky that partner with one of the churches in Morocco; and our plans for our Friendship Week that is being planned for May. If you have suggestions that we might send to them with our prayer requests for Friday of this week, please give those to Kitty Baird or Marian Gibson on Wednesday evening.

Between the Protestant Church in Rabat and Lexington Avenue Baptist Church in Danville. Will include: daily ministry focus and prayer requests; home Bible study, prayer and fellowship (10th); prayer partners with friends in Rabat; prayer meeting (11th); day of prayer and fasting (13th); day of service with “Soups On Us” (14th); Common Service with Karen Thomas Smith preaching and video music and greetings from Rabat, Morocco (15th). Our partner church in Rabat will engage in similar activities during the week.
