Sunday, Fourth Week of Advent: Love
December 21, 2014
Light the Candle of Love
To him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy – to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen. (Jude 24, 25)
When I was five years old, I was told by my aunt whom I was visiting that night about Jesus coming back to earth. He would be on a big white beautiful cloud and an angel would be blowing a trumpet. I started crying and told her I was afraid He would come that night and I would not be home with my Mom and Dad. That is a vivid memory.
I have so many special memories of past Christmases with baby Jesus in the manger and I was always happy and excited, full of joy and love. Christmas is truly about love. This is God’s gift to us, love through baby Jesus and his life.
Our privilege is to share this reality with everyone we spend time with. Time to invite friends and neighbors to our church and to join in our festivities. To share Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love and give thanks to God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit for all things bright and beautiful and to stay strong when difficulties surround us. Let us light up Christmas with smiles, greetings, and beautiful songs, acknowledging our blessings and praising God.
Prayer: Thank you dear God for the Joy of Christmas. Amen
