Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you.  Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.  John 14:27

How to Pray for World Peace – by Leonard  E. LeSourd

Believe that world peace is possible.

It is rather frightening, the extent of our negative thinking in this regard.  Too many people do not believe world peace is possible.  A prayer for peace should begin with a conviction that God has a plan for this world.  His plan means for all people to learn to live in peace with one another.  (John 14:27)

Pray every day in a specific way.

A doctor in California begins every day with the prayer that God will remove all strife within himself.  Then he asks this of God for each member of his family, friends, and neighbors.  He prays every day for the president and leaders of other nations.

Believe that you as a person are important in this peace effort.

Again, negative thinking has to be overcome.  Avoid the thought, I’m only one person.  Instead say ‘What I do is very important to help bring about God’s plan for world peace.’  John 16:33

Prayer:  Dear Heavenly Father, let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me.  Help me to visionalize peace everywhere and for such peace to happen.  We pray for our president.  Give him wisdom and courage to guide our nation into ways of peace.  In His name we pray.  Amen
