First Week of Advent: Hope
Wednesday, December 5, 2012
And thou shalt be secure because there is hope. Job 11:8a
After the death of our sweet daughter, Ann, and our precious little grandson, Paxton, I felt hopeless.
How could we get through the holidays? How could we get through the rest of our lives without them? Who would help us when we were older? In time, these questions faded. Life became normal again – not the same normal as before. But through hope we found a “new normal”.
Joel 3:16 says, “. . . but the Lord will be the hope of his people . . .” No matter how difficult one’s life can be, the most important thing is to live life with hope.
As we approach this Christmas season, my prayer for you is to be hopeful regardless of your situation. As Christians, our hope is in the Lord who made heaven and earth.
