Light the Candle of Love

What is the love candle?  It is the candle that represents God’s love for the world.

Song writers say, “What the world needs now is Love Sweet Love, It’s the only thing that there’s just too little of”.

An anonymous writer say’s “Love doesn’t make the world go around, it just makes the ride worthwhile.”

Many intelligent, insightful people have stated the importance of love.  However, in my life the right or true viewpoint on every subject is God.  God is the creator of everything and everyone in the universe.  God is supreme, the very top.  The source of all truth, knowledge and wisdom.  So let’s listen to his words of Love.

God is Love – 1John 4:8

“For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him shall not perish but have everlasting life.”  John 3:16

What makes Love so amazing is what motivated the Father to send his only Son to die for us.  Without Love, there would be no redemption for mankind.  Not only would we be without Love, but without the redemption that was precipitated by Love, there would also be no faith and no hope.  You see, nothing else matters without Love.  It is foundational for every other good thing in our lives.  We love because He first loved us.

God explains to us, mankind, in 1 Corinthians 13: 4-8, “Love is patient, Love is kind.  It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.  It is not rude, it is not self- seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrong.  Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with truth.  It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, and always perseveres.  All the special gifts and powers from God will someday come to an end, but Love goes on forever.”

So what is the most important thing you and I can do today?  Very simply, show Love to someone.
