Second Week of Advent: Peace
Saturday, December 15, 2012
"Submit to God and be at peace with him; in this way prosperity will come to you."
It makes sense: do what God tells you, and good things will happen. But truly, it’s not that simple. A Christian who submits to God must realize that their life and future is in God’s hands, and the choices and decisions they make must be made after consultation of the Father. Being at peace with God is also being at peace with what God plans to do in your life. You have to fully rely on God before you can actually have peace with the unknown. Once you can trust that God will guide you to each place you must go and each person you must meet, God’s plan will fold out. Everyone must go through hard times, and what we want is not always what God gives us, but it’s always what we need.
Prayer: Dear God, help me to trust in you in all I do. I pray that I can be at peace with you and your plan for me. Help me also to be at peace with others and leave the rest up to you. Amen.
