. . . and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son.  She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.  Luke 2:7 NIV

The  waiting is over.  Children can hardly be still enough to go to bed, anxious to see the gifts that will be left under the tree.  Last minute gift buying, mailing of Christmas cards, wrapping of presents, the preparing of meals, all this and more fill this day with activities.  But tonight it all comes to a close.  Even in reading the Christmas story, you sense that this night brings a close to the waiting.

For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son . . .  John 3:16a

This Christmas time in the busy bustling of our preparations let us remember first the birth of Jesus.  Let us take time to share in the song of the angels, the gladness of the shepherds, and the wisdom of the wise men.  Put love in our hearts and teach us to be merry.  May these things be more important to us than the gifts we buy or hope to receive.

LOVE

A noted physician, specializing in cardiology, addressed a seminar on the topic of the heart as an organ of the body.  In antiseptic language, designed to focus attention on the heart as a pump, he endeavored to put to rest any notion that hearts contained emotions or sentiments.  He labored over this introductory presentation by using an in-depth explanation of engineering requisites needed to keep the heart functioning as the drive train of existence.  This went on for several minutes and when finished he asked his listeners if they had any comment to make in reference to his presentation.

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength and my redeemer.  Psalms 19:14

Have you made your Christmas gift list yet?  If you’re like me, you really enjoy buying or making gifts that are just exactly right for friends and loved ones.

Love never ends.  These three things continue forever:  faith, hope, and love.  And the greatest of these is love.  1 Corinthians 13:13

What is Love?  Love is something that every one at one time or another, has to experience.  Whether love be with friends,  family, or other people;  We all experience it.  Love is given to us by the Lord, to share with others around us.
