The Best Christmas Gift
And if thy draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness be as the noonday. Isaiah 58:10
Advent is a time when the congregation can become too wrapped up in decorating the church with beautiful ornaments to represent the joys of Christmas. We spend a lot of money and energy in this yearly ritual.
God’s gift of Jesus is fully realized when we feed the hungry and offer hope to the homeless , befriend the friendless, and offer hope to the hopeless. We can make sure that decorations and lights lead us to know Christ, peace and love to share with others. This year let us decorate with the best Christmas Gift of all, Jesus Christ.
Prayer: Dear Lord, help us to see where we can serve you the best through the Child of Bethlehem. Amen.
